I have a few self winding watches that end up not having the right time if they are not worn daily. This got me thinking of a way to keep them wound. There are a number of automatic watch winders available on the market and those inspired to make one for myself. It is still a work in progress but this 3 ring gyroscopic design serves as a decorative moving art piece that keep watches wound. In the image and video is the alpha prototype of this design. The second phase build will feature a CNC frame from an engineered material rather than wood, a microprocessor and motor controller and an electronics cover. I will post the beta version here when it is done.
