Custom Teardrop Camping Trailer

This project was a real adventure—designed and built completely from scratch (except for the utility trailer frame, which I bought off the shelf). Over two years, I carefully built the body using aluminum, Douglas fir dimensional lumber, plywood, insulation, and aluminum sheeting and trim. Building the curved profile was a serious challenge—tight bend radii meant a lot of patience, precision, and a few re-dos, but it paid off with a clean, classic look.

I fully integrated the electrical system and lighting, tucking everything neatly inside the frame for a polished, professional finish. The rear hatch lifts open on gas springs to reveal a compact but super functional kitchen space, making it perfect for camping and road trips. Every detail—from material selection to final assembly—was done by hand, and this trailer reflects not just a ton of work, but a passion for building something truly one-of-a-kind.
